Our tribe is more important than our government. A fact that governments do not want to acknowledge. As individuals, we live in concentric circles of tribal relationships (with family at the center). This is our security. Governments that forget their role in this are helping to destroy themselves. Academics have become their own global tribe in our society, separate from the bottom-up tribes in the wider society. Artificial Intelligence and the internet mean that knowledge is no longer the domain with which this tribe of academics can maintain its position as a separate entity. Academics will have to change in order to prevent uprisings and civil wars.
Meanwhile, more and more autocratic and Islamic influences are creeping into Western societies through conversions and propaganda. These influences are coming in under the guise of a new sense of security based on tribal solidarity. Ultimately, this creeping influence wants to replace the current academics with new ones. Will the West allow this? Or will we finally stand up for ourselves by developing a new diploma and education system?
